Reading Journals

Each week find an article or newspaper story on an academic topic that you are interested in. There are many places to look for articles. The article must be less than 2 months old and from an international quality newspaper, magazine or web-site. Here are some ideas:

• Newspapers: The Cambodia Daily, Phnom Penh Post, Bangkok Post
• Magazines: Globe, Asia Life, Time, Newsweek
• The Internet, they are many useful websites you can choose from. See the extensive list below.

Post a personal response to each of your weekly articles and include the source (url) so others can read the article as well.

Use these questions to help you write your post:

• Why did you choose this article?
• What did you know already / what did you learn from this article?
• Did you like the article? Why / why not?
• Do you agree with the writer? Why / why not?
• Can you relate the ideas in the article to something in your own life?
• Does this remind you of something in your own life or culture?
